The Hair Cut

And as I lay ,amidst the rubble ,my shoulder length long dark silky hair, strewn on floor ,with celebrations around ,I could not stop the strong sense of deja-vu.Lately I had begun to get this feeling that the event is going to generate lot many cheers across friendly faces. This was my second hair cut in around 365 days and the very first since I came to USA (which is around 6 months ).Not that I had cultivated growing hair as my hobby or I was being TALIBANised ,but this hidden quality in me was nurtured and discovered by my laziness in year 2004 ,when everything other than my hair was un-progressive.And thus the growing hair supported the theory "Laziness is mother of all Invention ". Sorry I am wandering from point .
So ,growing hair covered my excuse for being lazy and being stingy,to being trendy.Lately the art of keeping or rather unkept long hairs have bounced back as fashion(Bollywood Actors ,Tom Cruise ..),as has Tatoo-ing.To be honest long flowing hair among men ,have always been "In". Modern people who mattered most and changed or impacted the world,by sheer co-incidence or whatever kept long hair .Be it Rock/Pop stars like Deff Leppard or Beatles or social activist like John Lenon or the reverred Albert einstien or the charismatic "Che-Guevra" all have one thing in common ....Wild unkept long hair .Sorry I am wandering from point .
So,I was at Saloon in McCallum Blvd ,and having my first hair cut after 7 months .I grew to phillosophical thought "the grief of separation is inseparable".I vividly remember ,7 months back ,how i was forced to get my mane trimmed on instance of my father ,the only guy ,who sends a shiver down my spine .Ouch !! the barber had miscaluculated her moves, but I am safe .The reflection on her face is obvious .I had hanuted the saloon 3 or 4 times but just to escort some of my friends and turned her request to get a hair cut many a times.Today was her day.Actually I was not always alone in my struggle to keep long hair. Some of my comrades gave up their battle either to their girl friends or to this barber .But I had walked alone. The hair cover didnt make me better looking rather more monstorous ,but i was stoic.Teenaged boys across the world ,grew upto ,growing long hair to declare their first step in making themselves heard that they are grown. This is their first step to declare themselves as independent, rebel ,breaking the prevalent trends and customs.Sorry I am wandering from point.
And as I was part and witness to reaping of those preserved and maintained fibres ,I felt that all the shampooing ,oiling (no gels),combing and tieing the hair was so futile .My Ruin did bring cheer in familar faces .There was applause all around .This had but just triggered the very fire in me .I will "Come Back ".
